Traveling cheap is definitely possible, but a few sacrifices have to be met. Though a small budget might mean less comfort and luxury, the whole trip doesn’t need to be less fun, especially if you’re with the right company.
Bohol on a tight budget? Why not! Last summer, I went back to Bohol (Panglao Island specifically) with some of my closest friends at what might probably be the most budget trip I’ve ever had so far. For four days and 3 nights, with both countryside and island hopping tours, lodging, and airfare (thanks, pisofare!), the whole trip just cost us around P5,000 per person.

Summer! There’s no better way to beat the Manila heat than to retreat to the seas and chill by the beach. Lucky for us Filipinos, we have so many options when it comes to pretty beaches, thanks to our (now) 7,500 islands or so. A few weeks ago, my friends and I welcomed the heat wave and went on a 6-day trip where we visited the bewitching island of Siquijor, swam with the whale sharks in Oslob, and marvelled at the wonderful marine life in Moalboal.
When I started looking for accommodation options for our South Korea winter trip, I knew it had to be in Hongdae. We stayed in the same area during our first visit last October 2014, and we fell in love with the youthful vibe and tireless energy of the place.

Being someone who hails from hot and humid Manila, to experience winter and witness snowfall are definitely on my bucket list. And I can’t help but feel all kilig as I type this: I finally ticked those off last February!
