A very long-overdue post ? since our Indochina trip last year, but the memories are still fresh! There was so much we loved from Bangkok, Thailand (and soooo many photos to choose from), but here are 10 things that really stood out for us:
A huge amount of meticulous planning and organization went into the making of this trip, and the most challenging part probably was managing the expenses. Since this was going to be a full two-week trip with four countries involved, we knew from the get-go that we would have to shell out quite a bit, but we also knew we wanted/needed to keep the expenses at bay.
Traveling cheap is definitely possible, but a few sacrifices have to be met. Though a small budget might mean less comfort and luxury, the whole trip doesn’t need to be less fun, especially if you’re with the right company.
Traveling with friends is a lot different from traveling with your family, especially when there are toddlers and senior citizens. You can’t always choose what’s practical, you also have to consider the level of comfort. Despite this, my family and I (composed of 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 senior citizens) managed to spend less than P55,000 ALL-IN during our trip to Bantayan Island, Cebu last May. I wouldn’t consider our Mt. Ulap adventure a budget trip, since there are a lot of cheaper alternatives to our transportation and accommodation choices. We deliberately chose to spend a little more to ensure comfort and relaxation before and after the hike (which is no joke).
